Christine the owner was very welcoming and provided us with lots of information about what to do and where to eat in the local area. The common area was spacious, had a great ambience and had lovely views of the countryside. The welcome gift of wine from the region was most appreciated!

The rooms were pleasant but not glam. And outlook lovely, bed was comfortable, and room was clean. I liked the community kitchen/ sitting room, and welcome fireplace We were greeted warmly by the owner.
The booking was to include breakfast and it was assumed this meant a cooked breakfast or makings of... However on arrival we were advised that cereal and bread for making our own toast were in the room (incidentally there was no bread in our room, but we luckily found some in the community kitchen.) minimal butter and spreads were available. The accommodation manager/owner were out for the night and it appeared were not home in the morning. We had our toast, washed up and went and bought breakfast else where. A complimentary bottle of wine was in the room as advertised, however we were not asked if we preferred red / white. (we got the white :(...would have much preferred red.)

Hotel style room was OK, clean etc.
When I booked the room for the night I was actually looking for a B&B style accomodation not a motel style room. Location was not as close as I had imagined to most popular vineyards & restaurants.

Review of Rothbury Escape in Rothbury
I had a really enjoyable stay for one night at Rothbury Escape. the food was fantastic, and the staff were remarkably accommodating and friendly. I appreciated the complimentary upgrade to a king room; it was a lovely gesture. the hotel’s secluded location is perfect, with several wineries close by. Plus, being right next door to Hunter Valley means you have access to excellent vineyards and delightful restaurants.
